Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2 September 2026
Last updated: 2 September 2026
Charein Fascial Healing is operated by Charein Esther Price (ABN 28 907 048 972) (we, us or our).
We respect your privacy and are committed to handling personal information responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information in connection with our therapeutic practice, our website at https://fascialhealing.charein.com, and the Fascial Healing Website booking web application (together, the Services).
The booking web application includes an optional Google Calendar integration. Google Calendar integration is a feature within the Fascial Healing Website booking application; it is not a separate therapeutic practice, business or service. It allows a user who chooses to connect a Google Calendar account to manage appointment-related calendar events in a calendar selected by that user.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), including the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and other Australian laws that apply to our practice.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to personal information we collect about:
- current and prospective clients of Charein Fascial Healing;
- people who use our website, booking application or optional Google Calendar integration;
- people who contact us, make an enquiry, make or manage a booking, or request support; and
- any person whose personal information is provided to us in connection with an appointment or enquiry.
Our online booking service is intended only for people aged 18 years or older. A person must be at least 18 years old to make a booking through the booking application.
2. Personal information we collect
The personal information we collect depends on how you interact with us and the Services. It may include:
- Identity and contact information: your name, email address, telephone number, address, date of birth where required, and preferred contact method.
- Therapeutic and health information: information relevant to providing therapeutic services, such as wellbeing information, presenting concerns, relevant history, assessment information, treatment goals, treatment notes, care plans, referrals, accessibility needs, and information you provide during therapy or in connection with therapy.
- Booking information: appointment dates and times, service type, booking status, selected practitioner or service, appointment preferences, cancellation, rescheduling, and booking-related notes.
- Google Calendar information: only if you actively choose to use the optional Google Calendar integration and grant permissions through Google. This may include the calendar you select, calendar identifier, event identifier, event title, date, time, duration, availability or busy status, recurrence information, attendees, event status, and other event details necessary to create, read, update, reschedule or delete appointment-related calendar events.
- Account and communication information: account details, booking confirmations, appointment reminders, messages, enquiry forms, emails, feedback, technical-support requests and communications with us.
- Payment and billing information: invoices, payment status and limited transaction information, where applicable. Payment-card details are handled by the relevant payment provider, if used; we do not intentionally store full payment-card details.
- Technical and usage information: IP address, device and browser type, operating system, application version, cookies, session information, security logs, error reports and information about use of the website or booking application.
Health information is sensitive information under Australian privacy law. We take particular care when handling it.
3. How we collect information
We may collect personal information:
- directly from you when you visit our website, create an account, make or manage a booking, complete a form, contact us, attend a session, or otherwise use the Services;
- automatically through the website and booking application using cookies, session technology, security logging and related technology;
- from Google only after you select “Connect Google Calendar” and approve the requested permissions in Google’s OAuth consent process; and
- from other people or organisations only where you authorise this, where it is reasonably necessary for our therapeutic services, or where collection is otherwise permitted or required by law.
We do not access your Google Calendar simply because you visit our website or use the booking application. Access begins only after you choose to connect your Google Calendar and authorise access through Google.
4. Why we use information
We collect, hold, use and disclose personal information only where reasonably necessary to operate our therapeutic practice and provide the Services. This includes to:
- provide, manage and support therapeutic services;
- create and maintain client, appointment, booking and professional records;
- make, confirm, change, reschedule, cancel and remind you about appointments;
- communicate with you about appointments, enquiries, care, account matters, invoices, service updates, security and safety matters;
- operate, maintain, secure, test, troubleshoot and improve the website and booking application;
- administer payments, invoices, rebates, claims or funding arrangements where applicable;
- meet legal, ethical, professional, insurance, accounting and regulatory obligations;
- respond to complaints, incidents, legal claims, subpoenas, court orders and regulator requests; and
- use or disclose information for another purpose where you have provided consent or where permitted or required by law.
5. Google Calendar integration
Optional booking feature
Google Calendar integration is optional. It supports appointment management within the Fascial Healing Website booking application. You do not need to connect Google Calendar to receive therapeutic services or to make a booking through other available booking methods.
If you choose to connect Google Calendar, the booking application may access the calendar and event data covered by the Google permissions you approve. It is designed to manage appointment-related events in the calendar you choose.
What the integration does
Subject to the permissions you approve and the application features available at the time, the integration may:
- create a dedicated calendar in your Google account for appointments;
- create calendar events for appointments confirmed through the booking application;
- read event details where necessary to identify and manage appointment events created or linked through the booking application;
- update calendar events if an appointment is changed or moved; and
- delete or cancel appointment-related calendar events if an appointment is cancelled.
How Google Calendar data is used
Google Calendar data is used only to provide and operate the user-facing appointment-booking and appointment-management features described above. In particular, it is used to manage bookings, appointment changes, cancellations and calendar synchronisation in the calendar you select.
We do not sell, rent or trade Google user data. We do not use Google Calendar data for advertising, behavioural profiling, targeted marketing, data brokering, or purposes unrelated to booking and managing appointments. We do not use Google Calendar data to train general-purpose or unrelated artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.
We limit our use of Google user data to providing or improving these prominent, user-facing booking features, consistent with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Disclosure of Google Calendar data
We do not disclose Google Calendar data to third parties except:
- to service providers that are necessary to operate, secure, host, maintain or support the booking application and Google Calendar integration, subject to appropriate privacy and confidentiality obligations;
- where you direct or authorise us to do so;
- where necessary to protect the security or integrity of the Services, including investigating a fault, fraud, abuse or security incident; or
- where required or permitted by law, including to comply with a valid legal process or lessen or prevent a serious threat to life, health or safety.
We do not permit staff, contractors or other people to read Google Calendar data unless it is necessary to provide support you have requested, investigate a security or technical issue, comply with law, or you have provided affirmative consent for that access.
Disconnecting Google Calendar
You can disconnect Google Calendar from the booking application at any time through the application settings, where available, or by contacting us using the details below. You can also revoke the booking application’s access through your Google Account security settings.
Disconnecting or revoking access stops future calendar synchronisation. It may not automatically delete appointment events already created in your Google Calendar. It also does not necessarily remove appointment or professional records that we must retain for legal, therapeutic, administrative, insurance or security purposes.
6. When we disclose information
We may disclose personal information where reasonably necessary to:
- Charein Esther Price and authorised personnel or contractors supporting the therapeutic practice, subject to confidentiality and privacy obligations;
- providers that help operate the Services, including website hosting, cloud infrastructure, booking or practice-management systems, payment providers, email or SMS providers, IT support, cybersecurity and technical-support providers;
- other health professionals, referrers, insurers, funding bodies, emergency contacts or authorised representatives where you consent or where permitted or required by law;
- professional advisers, including lawyers, accountants, auditors and insurers;
- government agencies, courts, tribunals, regulators, police or other authorities where required, authorised or permitted by law; and
- a successor entity if the practice or its assets are transferred, sold, restructured or merged, subject to reasonable privacy safeguards.
We limit disclosures to personal information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.
7. Serious threats and legal obligations
In limited circumstances, we may use or disclose personal information without consent where authorised or required by law. This may include where we reasonably believe it is necessary to lessen or prevent a serious threat to life, health or safety; to comply with mandatory-reporting responsibilities, a subpoena, court order or legal obligation; or to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
8. Website technology and cookies
Our website and booking application may use cookies, session technologies, security logs and similar tools to operate the Services, retain essential preferences, protect accounts and systems, diagnose problems and understand general usage.
You can generally manage cookies through browser or device settings. Disabling cookies may affect the operation of the website or booking application.
We do not knowingly provide identifiable health information or Google Calendar data to advertising platforms for behavioural or targeted advertising.
9. Data location and overseas handling
Our booking service is intended for appointments made from within Australia. However, using online services, cloud infrastructure and Google Calendar may involve personal information being processed, stored or accessed outside Australia.
The technology providers we currently use for the website and booking application are:
- Hostinger — website and booking-application hosting, and the booking database. Hostinger operates data centres in several countries and may process or store data outside Australia.
- Google — the optional Google Calendar integration, and Google Fonts used for page display. Google may process or store data outside Australia, including in the United States.
Booking and appointment records are held in the booking application’s own database on our hosting provider’s servers. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising services on the website.
Before disclosing personal information overseas, we will take reasonable steps to ensure the overseas recipient handles it in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles, unless an exception under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) applies. Safeguards may include contractual requirements, access controls, encryption and other technical and organisational protections.
10. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. Measures may include access restrictions, password controls, encryption in transit, secure hosting, secure backups, audit logging, confidentiality obligations, and security monitoring.
No method of electronic storage or internet transmission is completely secure. You should keep account credentials confidential, use a strong and unique password, secure your device, and notify us promptly if you believe your account or information has been accessed without authority.
If we become aware of an eligible data breach, we will take the steps required by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), including notifying affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where required.
11. Retention and deletion
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain suitable therapeutic and booking records, meet legal, professional, insurance, accounting and regulatory obligations, resolve disputes and protect the security of the Services.
We will keep health and therapeutic records for the applicable minimum period required by law, professional standards and insurance requirements. As a general operational baseline, records relating to adult clients will be retained for at least seven years after the last service or contact, unless a longer period is required or reasonably appropriate.
When information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to securely destroy it or permanently de-identify it, unless we are required or permitted to retain it.
Deleting the booking application, closing an account or disconnecting Google Calendar does not automatically delete records that we must retain.
12. Access and correction
You may request access to personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. To make a request, contact the Privacy Officer using the details below.
We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within a reasonable period. We may charge a reasonable administrative fee for providing access where permitted by law, but we will not charge you simply for making an access or correction request.
In some circumstances, we may refuse access or correction, or provide access in a particular form, where permitted or required by law. If so, we will provide written reasons where required and explain available options.
13. Marketing
We may send information about our practice, services, resources or updates where permitted by law. You can opt out of marketing at any time by using an unsubscribe facility in the message or contacting us.
We may still send non-marketing communications necessary for appointments, therapeutic services, account administration, payment, safety, security, transactions or legal compliance.
14. Third-party services
Our website or booking application may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. Please read their privacy policies before providing them with personal information.
Google’s handling of information is also subject to Google’s applicable privacy policies and terms. This policy explains how Charein Fascial Healing handles information received through the optional Google Calendar integration.
15. Privacy complaints
If you have a privacy question, concern or complaint, please contact the Privacy Officer using the details below and provide enough information for us to investigate.
We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to respond within a reasonable period. If you are dissatisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC):
- Website: https://www.oaic.gov.au/
- Phone: 1300 363 992 (within Australia)
You may also have rights to contact an applicable health-complaints body or professional regulator, depending on the circumstances.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our therapeutic practice, website, booking application, Google Calendar integration, technology providers, legal obligations or privacy practices.
The current version will be available at https://fascialhealing.charein.com/privacy and will display its effective date and last-updated date. Where required, we will notify you of material changes or obtain further consent.
